What are we doing to help the environment?
Here at The Baby Kitchen it is important to look after our planet, we are always looking at ways to reduce our 'Carbon Footprint' below are just a few things we do to help.
Recycling
We are fortunate enough in our borough to have a very good doorstep collection of recycling waste, all packaging is sorted into its specific type and recycled. Even our food is seperated to ensure the minimum amount of waste goes into landfill.
Composting
As you can imagine fruit and vegetables play a large part in all of our cooking at The Baby Kitchen. All the peelings from our vegetables are put into a composter, and used to help grow our own vegetables. Our daughter is fascinated by the way the worms can make such a rich nutritious soil for all of our plants.
Buying Local Produce
By buying local produce from our local farms we are helping to reduce the amount of 'Food Miles' our ingredients have to make, this all helps to reduce the amount of lorries on the road.
Cooking
It is often the little things that can make a huge difference. When cooking on the stove we always use lids. Something so simple, yet can create not only a gentler cooking process, but ensures less energy is wasted.
